Someone asked that question at the end of an executive board meeting, after our employee survey. In front of us lay handsome bar charts, yes-no answers and individual voices without weight.
At the time I was Managing Partner of a digital agency with 550 employees in three countries. What was really going on in our company, I did not learn from the report. I learned it from an assistant with a notepad whom we sent through the offices. He heard what no questionnaire asked.
The knowledge that matters is already there in every organization. It just rarely reaches the place where decisions are made. We close that gap.
