The challenge

How can the number, locations, equipment and tasks of the fire departments be optimized to meet current and future requirements?

The pioneering vehicles in the canton of Zurich have reached the end of their service life and need to be replaced step by step. However, replacement alone is not enough – the opportunity should be taken to rethink the entire road rescue concept.

A sustainable solution requires the involvement of all relevant stakeholders – from the firefighters themselves to the management and command.

The solution

With BrainE4, a structured online platform was created

This enabled firefighters and decision-makers to play an active role in the design process. In an interactive dialog, they were able to answer questions, contribute their own suggestions and evaluate existing ideas.

The results

The feedback collected provided a clearly prioritized basis for decision-making

This basis took into account both the needs of the emergency services and the economic conditions. This ensured that the new road rescue concept is not only modern, but also efficient and sustainable.
